Parenthood is an exciting, confusing, rewarding, infuriating, isolating, and community-building experience. Through writing about my experiences and reactions to parenting-related articles, I aim to foster a sense of inquiry and inclusion rather than to promote any sort of ideal or philosophy. After all, most of us are just flying by the seat of our pants, doing what works and what feels right.

Five easy steps to not messing up your daughter too much

My baby is a dude, so I have no leg to stand on here and shouldn't be offering advice about raising a daughter.  Except that I'm a woman, so that qualifies me, right?
I liked this article in the Huffington Post: How to talk to your daughter about her body.  This article serves as a decent basis for human conduct anyway.  Don't focus on your own body shape or anyone else's; focus on the cool experiences that your body can help achieve.  Eat kale AND cake.  Seems like good advice to me.
